Marotandrano Special Reserve is in north-central Madagascar near Mandritsara, and covers some 42,000 ha of rain forest. Access to the reserve is possible from Mandritsare by means of a four-wheel-drive vehicle, but only during the dry season. Basic accommodations can be found in Mandritsara, but staying in the reserve itself requires camping. Species that may be seen here include hairy-eared dwarf lemur (Allocebus trichotis), northern bamboo lemur (Hapalemur occidentalis), red-bellied lemur (Eulemur rubriventer), variegated black-and-white ruffed lemur (Varecia variegata variegata), diademaed sifaka (Propithecus diadema), indri (Indri indri), and possibly aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis).
